  • As flight disruptions continue due to the ash cloud from an Icelandic volcano, new measures went into effect at midday Tuesday (May-18) that will let planes fly at higher ash densities than currently permitted.
  • Between Saturday and Monday, when disruptions were greatest, IATA said lost revenues reached $400 million each day.
  • Armann Hoskuldsson, a volcanologist at the University of Iceland, told a briefing that the volcano's output is now "insignificant," though it will continue to be active for a while.

20:55 Arrival to Tunis. Meet and assist by our local agent then transfer to Le Paradis Palace hotel in
Hammamet. Dinner and overnight.

Wednesday 29/12/2010
Breakfast at hotel then departure to El Djem. Visit of the Roman Amphitheater then proceed to
MATMATA via GABES. Arrival to MATMATA. Visit of a Troglodyte house and a Berber family. Free lunch
en cours de route.
End of the day : departure to DOUZ. Check in at Sahara Douz hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Thursday 30/12/2010
Breakfast at hotel then departure to NOUAIL, BLIDET & ZAAFRANE. Visit with short tour in a 4x4 or on
Camel (optional). Cruise over the salted lake of CHOTT EL JERID towards TOZEUR. Arrival to TOZEUR.
Visit of the oasis in carriage (optional). Check-in at Iberostar Palmyre hotel
PM : Departure in 4x4 to visit ONK EL JEMEL, « Star Wars » scenes.
Sunset in the desert.
End of the day : Return to Tozeur. Dinner at hotel.

and of a carpet workshop (Kairouan is famous for its carpets)
